How journalists influence the society
Journalists play a crutial raw in the society by telling people the burning issues of the day.
As a journalist,i think the stories i write influence the way people think and how people do their things.
For example,i once wrote a story about a person who was robbed during the day after disembarking from a kombi in Griniteside and a lot of people became very carefull when they got to that spot.
This actually made people aware that one can be robbed even during the day,hence journalists influence the society.
News is not a commodity that can be apportioned in some neat way for readers
and viewers. I am not saying either that journalists concoct the news but the journalist,
like the artist, paints the picture, chooses what will go into the picture and what will not,
decides where the onlooker will stand—positions the reader, the viewer, the citizen,journalists possess enormous power.
As a journalist, it is my job to be the voice of the voiceless and to give back to the community.
Some school children improve their english at school just by reading stories writen by journalists.
Some people do not do not typically know anything about the government or about most social problems until they are reported by the media.
Journalists shapes reality as they report real thing that happens in the community and people will be aware of things that are happening.
The media is constantly sending people subliminal messages regarding many things in society. What products to buy, where to shop, where to vacation, and even perceptions about crime and sfatey are influenced by the media.
